Lion's started the first half with great tempo, keeping Hinckley deep in their half with a combination of good running lines and top draw kicking from the half backs.
Despite hanging considerably from a Friday night Xmas party, Kieron Bull ran through the Hinckley defence with ease, crossing for 2 trys.
Lions dominated the set piece to brilliant effect with Sam crossing over after breaking off a powerfull rolling maul.
Lions went into the break well on top on the score board with momentum firmly in their favour. Aggressive and relentless defence from the Lion's pack had caused a number of flair ups with Hinckley players frustration showing through.
Hinckley came back into the match in the second half with a couple of well worked try's following periods of prolonged defence by Lions.
The Final quarter saw Lions pack really coming into their own, bossing the breakdown with 20+ phases of pick and go rugby resulting with Hinckley giving away a kick-able penalty with less than a minute to go. Jamal stepped up, took his full 60 seconds to set up a sweet strike between the posts, sending Lions 2nd's into the clubs first final for a number of years!
MOM went to the evergreen Paul Rix who was at the centre of everything good about Lion's performance.
He was helped along by the other 7 forwards dealing with everything Hinckley could throw at us, with the constant shout of "one more pick" coming from the back line.
Onwards into the Final against Syston in the new year, further details to follow.
