Leicester Lions are pleased to announce the signing of Luke Veebel. Luke re-joins Lions from National 2 side Stourbridge. Luke is a centre and was part of the Leicester Tigers Academy. He has also played for his local side Market Bosworth and Coventry RFC. As well as representing Leicestershire and the Midlands as a junior, he has played for the Leicestershire senior side and earned 15 caps for Estonia.
Head coach Gareth Collins commented: ‘’It’s great to have Veebs back at the club. He joined the club for the first time at the back end of my time playing here so I know him well. He is a hardworking, powerful player who not only carries well but is an abrasive tackler. He will hopefully give us some ‘go-forward’ ball to launch some attacking rugby from. He is someone who I have a huge amount of time for as he has a great work ethic and will fit with the culture we want to build.’’
Luke commented: ‘’It’s my second spell at the club and I’m really looking forward to playing under Gareth rather than playing with him. It will also be good to experience the standard in the south league, and hopefully be competitive.’’
