The squad has been in training for a few weeks and are eagerly anticipating the 2022/23 season. They will be playing in the newly formed National League 2 West, so will have some new opponents to face.

There are three pre-season games:-

Thursday 11th August 2022 - Leicester Lions v Nuneaton - Home - Kick Off 7.30 pm - free entry

Saturday 20th August 2022 - Otley v Leicester Lions - Away - Kick Off 3.00 pm

Saturday 27th August 2022 - Leicester Lions v Sheffield Tigers - Home - Kick Off 2.00 pm - free entry

Lions start the league season with two exciting fixtures, including league newcomers Hornets, from Weston-Super-Mare:-

Saturday 3rd September 2022 - Leicester Lions v Hornets - Home - Kick Off 2.00 pm - normal admission charges apply

Saturday 10th September 2022 - Hinckley v Leicester Lions - Away - Kick Off 3.00 pm - normal admission charges apply. No doubt Hinckley will be keen to make amends for last season when Lions did the double over Hinckley.

Lions' Chair, Ken Whitehead, said "After some especially good form in the second half of last season the squad is training enthusiastically and looking forward to the challenge of competing in the new National League 2 West. Some familiar oppositions and some new challenges against new opponents. The lads are keen and ready to go."
